Our Facilities
Aspen Power Catamarans builds inboard and outboard cruisers and yachts in four buildings at the Port of Skagit Airport Business Park just 5 minutes off I-5 in Burlington, WA, USA. Next Generation of Boat Builders
Aspen is partnering with local and regional organizations to create awareness about careers in the marine industry, as well as inspire talented individuals to explore these careers through a variety of immersive activities. We are always looking for innovative and engaging ways to promote boat building as a career and to attract career-minded talent.
Apprenticeships
Aspen has an active relationship with the Skagit Valley College Marine Tech Institute in Anacortes. Students enrolled in the 1-year certification program, or 2-year degree program, may apply for the Aspen SVC Apprentice Program. Students support their education and financial obligations by working part-time at Aspen in the morning while attending classes in the afternoon. Aspen Apprentices are selected based on their individual talent, as well as their career goals. Aspen Apprentices have the opportunity to work additional hours during school breaks and may be promoted to full-time employment upon graduation from their course of study.
Current SVC Marine Tech students may speak to their instructor about the program. All Aspen candidates may inquire about their eligibility to participate in the program.

Aspen Power Catamarans is a world leader in high-speed displacement catamarans with its efficient asymmetrical hull design. The company builds 28 – to – 40-foot fiberglass cruisers and yachts in a modern facility at the airport business park in Burlington, WA. Our facility is 10 minutes west of the interstate.

Responsibilities:
The marine electrician will perform a wide range of tasks in the sub/final assembly jobs to include AC/DC wiring, helm electronics, plumbing, bilge pump installation, head build out and stateroom build out. Knowledge of marine systems, i.e. air conditioning, diesel furnace, marine generators, Garmin technology systems, solar panels, and sea water systems.
The marine electrician will focus 90% of their energy on boat production and 1-% on developing more efficient process for the production of future boats. Candidates will have experience in the marine industry, and have their own hand tools and basic equipment.
Pay range : (DOE – depending on experience)
40 hours in 4 ½ days with Friday afternoons off.

The cabinet maker is responsible for detail sanding of fine take cabinetry for 28 – 40 foot yachts. Candidate must be able to use a table saw, hop saw, small hand tools for wood working. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in different positions, though most of the work is on a bench. This can be an entry-level position in a fine marine cabinet shop that typically works up to a Senior Cabinet builder over 2 – 3 years.

Pay range: $20 – $30 per hour, depending on experience.
40 hours in 4 1/2 days with Friday afternoons off.
Primary purpose of this role is to install and finish boat interior teak and vinyl over marine plywood components. Activities include planning, patterning, building, assembling, adjusting and inspecting. You will also be expected to safely and productively install, sand, finish, repair, buff/polish and apply specialty finish with spray guns (similar to auto body spray guns). All work must comply with stringent Aspen quality standards.
Requirements
Experience with professional-grade woodworking tools including table saw, miter saw, joiner, planer, router, drill press, sander (hand, orbital, belt, etc.). Experience with spray gun application is preferred. Reliable team play with the ability to arrive at work on time every day. Positive attitude and self-motivation to contribute through collaborative hard work. Eager to learn with a keen attention to detail. Ability to follow written procedures and spoken directions.
The ideal candidate will have a mix of woodworking and vinyl installation skills, familiarity with spray gun application as well as a mindset for how to build things.
Competitive compensation depends on experience (DOE)
Pay: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour
